Adjectives order



Adjectives order

1.       Opinion : an opinion adjective explains what you think about something (other people may not gree with you). E.g: silly beautiful, pretty, good, bad, interesting………….
2.       Size: a size adjective tells how big or small something is. E.g: tall, short, fat, thin, narrow, big, small…………………….
3.       Age: an age adjective tells you how young or old something is. E.g: new, young, old, adolescent, middle-aged, ancient, brand new………………..
4.       Shape: a shape adjective describes the shape of something. E.g: square, round, flat, rectangular, circular, oval……………………
5.       Colour: a colour adjective describes the colour of something. Eg: blue, grey, orange, green, white, black……………………….
6.       Origin: an origin adjective describes where something comes from. E.g: French, American, Moroccan, English……………………………………………
7.       Material: a material adjective describes what something is made from. E.g: cotton, metal, wooden, plastic, woolen, paper……………………………..
8.       Purpose: a purpose adjective describes what something is used for. These adjectives often with “-ing”. E.g: reading lamp, sleeping bag…………………………..
